Fidaxomicin
Fidaxomicin is used for the treatment of C. difficile diarrhea. Fidaxomicin works by inhibiting the bacterial RNA polymerase enzyme at the site of transcription. Fidaxomicin is bactericidal and there is minimal resistance. Expected gastrointestinal side effects are present.
