Foscarnet

Foscarnet is indicated in the treatment of CMV retinitis and for acyclovir resistant herpes simplex infections. Foscarnet works by reversibly inhibiting viral DNA and RNA polymerase.  Nephrotoxicity and seizures are possible adverse effects.
