Catapult Pharmacology
Granulocyte Colony-stimulating Factors
Granulocyte Colony-stimulating factors (G-CSF) are medications that work to stimulate the production and release of neutrophils from the bone marrow in the same fashion as human G-CSF. G-CSF is used to prevent neutropenia and infections related to myelosuppressive chemotherapy. Filgrastim is a recombinant form of human G-CSF. Pegfilgrastim is a pegylated from of filgrastim to increase the duration of action.
