Other Opioid Analgesics
These medications are used for the treatment of pain. Both medications are weak opioid mu agonists. Tramadol also has serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor properties. Tapentadol has more isolated norepinephrine reuptake inhibition. Both medications can precipitate serotonin syndrome.
