Retinoids
Retinoids are a class of medications that are used in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Some medications in this class also have indications for treatment of fine lines associated with photoaging. In acne, retinoids work by unclogging blocked pores. In photoaging, retinoids improves the collagen and dermal matrix. Skin irritation and photosensitivity are common side effects. These medications should not be taken/handled in pregnancy due to risk of birth defects.

Comedolytic, which allows unclogging of blocked pores in the treatment of acne
