Anthracyclines
Anthracyclines treat a variety of cancers and work by forming free radicals to damage cancer cells. The free radicals break DNA, oxidize DNA components and promote membrane peroxidation of lipids. Cardiotoxicity is a known and frequently tested adverse effect.
