Daptomycin
Daptomycin is an antibiotic used to treat resistant gram-positive infections. Daptomycin is bactericidal and works by disrupting the cell wall and efflux of potassium. Daptomycin also inhibits the production of RNA, DNA, and proteins. Daptomycin has poor pulmonary penetration, so it should not be used to treat pneumonia. Rhabdomyolysis can occur with use.
