Nonselective Beta Blockers with Alpha-1 Blockade
Labetalol and carvedilol block both β and α1 receptors. The α1 effects (vasodilation) add to the β effects caused by other beta blockers. These medications are used in the treatment of hypertension. Fatigue, dizziness, sexual dysfunction, and bronchoconstriction are all possible side effects.
